FAQs about Bedding

How to choose the right king duvet cover?

Three things in order: fabric, mattress size, and the duvet inside. Pick the fabric (percale, sateen, or flannel) by climate and skin preference. Confirm you're shopping for a US/Canadian king mattress (193 cm wide) and match the duvet to the cover.

A king duvet cover is the largest piece of bedding you'll buy, so the cotton quality is doubled in importance. Pick the one you'd happily wash a hundred times.

What size is a king duvet cover?

Our king duvet covers are sized to fit US and Canadian king mattresses (193×203 cm) with generous drape on all sides. The fabric panel accommodates a standard king duvet without bunching, with internal corner ties to keep the duvet aligned through the night.

Is a UK king the same as a US king?

No. A UK king mattress is 150×200 cm, while a US/Canadian king is 193×203 cm, and our king size duvet covers fit the US/Canadian standard. If you're shopping from the UK, what you call a king maps closer to our 160 cm sizing, sold elsewhere on the site.

How do I pick between percale, sateen, and flannel king duvet covers?

Percale for warm sleepers, sateen for the silky drape, flannel for cold months. The fabric is the layer that's against your skin all night, so pick by climate first.

If your bedroom runs hot, percale king duvet covers feel coolest. If you want the hotel-bed look, sateen drapes most beautifully across a king mattress.

Where are Marshmellow luxury king duvet covers made?

Every king duvet cover is woven and sewn in Portugal, in the same Lintexport mill we've been running since 1967. The seams hold, the colour stays put, the cotton softens with each wash. Continuity matters when you're making a piece this large.

How do I care for a king duvet cover?

Wash warm (30-40°C) with mild detergent. Skip bleach and skip fabric softener (it kills breathability). Tumble dry low or line dry.

A king-size piece is heavy when wet, so check your washing machine drum capacity before loading. Most home machines can handle a king duvet cover; some can't.

Luxury King Duvet Covers

A king duvet cover does a big job. There's a lot of fabric to do it well.

More cotton means more places where shortcuts show. Cheap king-size pieces sag in the middle, lose colour faster, fray at the seams under their own weight. A proper king duvet cover holds together for years.

Ours are woven in Portugal, since 1967. Percale for warm sleepers. Sateen for the silky drape. Flannel for cold months. Each king duvet cover fits 193×203 cm mattresses with the right amount of drape on all sides.

A king size duvet cover set is the cover plus matching pillowcases. Build the set you want: solid, striped, mixed. Your bed, your way.

Other king size duvet covers are mass-produced in factories that don't weave their own cotton. Ours come from a Portuguese mill that does. Luxury king duvet covers that wash, drape, and hold up like they should.

Made in Portugal, since 1967. Sleep king-size.
