FAQs about Bedding

How to choose the right duvet cover?

Start with the fabric. Percale for warm sleepers, sateen for a silky drape, flannel for cold months. Then the size, since duvet covers are sold by bed width and need to match the duvet inside.

A duvet cover is what people see when they walk into the bedroom and what you feel when you sleep. Worth choosing as carefully as the rest.

What size duvet cover do I need?

Match it to your bed, not your duvet. Our duvet covers come in a smaller cut for 140/160 cm beds and a larger cut for 180/200 cm beds. If you're between sizes, size up, since a slightly oversized cover always drapes better than a tight one.

Are modern duvet covers different from the traditional kind?

Modern duvet covers usually have a hidden button or zip closure, plus internal corner ties to keep the duvet in place. Older covers often had open ends or external buttons. Ours use button closures and internal corner ties, which is the cleanest of the modern formats.

How do I pick between percale, sateen, and flannel duvet covers?

Percale for warm sleepers, sateen for the hotel-bed feeling, flannel for cold months. Sateen drapes more dramatically, percale has more structure, flannel is the warmest. Pick by climate first, then by feel.

Where are Marshmellow duvet covers made?

Every Marshmellow duvet cover is woven and sewn in Portugal, in the same Lintexport mill we've been running since 1967. That continuity shows up in the seams, the colour-fastness, and the way the cotton feels after a year.

What makes Marshmellow's premium duvet covers different?

Most high quality duvet covers are made by anonymous suppliers and rebranded by retailers. Ours come from a Portuguese mill running since 1967, where we control the cotton, the weave, and the finishing.

The result is duvet covers that hold their colour, soften with washing, and outlast everything else in the linen cupboard.

Luxury Duvet Covers

A duvet cover is what people see. Also what you feel.

The duvet does the warming. The cover does the touching, the looking, the laundering. Different jobs, both worth taking seriously.

Ours are woven in Portugal, since 1967. Percale for warm sleepers. Sateen for the silky drape. Flannel for cold winters.

Duvet covers in two cuts: a smaller one for 140/160 cm beds, a larger one for 180/200 cm. A duvet cover set is the cover plus matching pillowcases. Build it up piece by piece if you'd rather.

Other modern duvet covers are sewn to look right in a campaign. Ours are sewn to last a decade. High quality duvet covers, the kind that earn their keep.

Made in Portugal, since 1967. Dress your bed.
